Carrickbaggot Free Range Eggs
Farm Code: 1IEO23
Your eggs have come from Belview’s sister farm in Co. Louth. Bought in October 2018 by Dermot this 168-acre farm has been transformed into Irelands largest Free Range egg laying unit. Construction started in December 2019 and our first flock of birds arrived on the 8th of July 2020 with the unit completely stocked by November 2020. Not a bad 11 months’ work considering the ongoing Pandemic.
This state-of-the-art farm also has some technical gadgets thrown in. The hot water is generated through solar electricity and the eggs are stacked on pallets courtesy of a robot called the Meggot.
All 4 houses are approved by the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine and are certified with Bord Bia under the Sustainable Egg Assurance Scheme.
